Chip Donohue of ecelearn and the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development and Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, moderated a session on the role of technology in early childhood teacher education at the recent Working Forum for Teacher Educators held in Auckland, New Zealand. The Working Forum was co-sponsored by ecelearn partner, New Zealand Tertiary College and the World Forum Foundation, and brought together over 100 teacher educators from around the world to talk about key issues facing teacher educators and teacher education. Chip Donohue of ecelearn and the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development & Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (USA) was the keynote speaker at the 8th national T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® conference in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on April 16. His presentation, Mind the Gap: Blending High Tech with High Touch to Inform and Engage the Early Childhood Workforce, addressed the obstacles to effective use of technology in early childhood teacher education as well as the opportunities new and emerging technologies offer early childhood professionals.
